Additional Help
(offered as a service by the Prince William SPCA but not endorsed or affiliated with the Prince William SPCA)

Wildlife: Our volunteers are not trained in dealing with snakes, skunks and other wildlife that may be at your home. You must contact Animal Control for assistance with wildlife at the above numbers or call Humane Wildlife Solutions (endorsed by the Humane Society of the US) at 1-866-9HUMANE.

Injured Wild Animals: Call Wildlife Rescue League (703) 440-0800 if you have sick or injured wildlife you believe is in need of human assistance. One of their volunteers will return your call and give you instructions on how to proceed. Their hotline operates from 8 AM to 9 PM (6 PM in winter) every day of the year. If you call after hours, your call will be returned after 8 AM the following day.

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Options: Looking for a way to get your cat or dog spayed or neutered at a reduced cost? The folks at Spay, Inc. offer a program that provides certificates for reduced-cost procedures. For more information, visit them at http://www.spay.org/request.html. (The PWSPCA is not affiliated with Spay, Inc. and only offers this link as a resource.)

Poison Control Center: The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center is the premier animal-oriented poison control center in North America. It's the best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Make the call that can make all the difference: (888) 426-4435.  A $50 consultation fee may be applied to credit card.

Purebred Rescue Groups: If you find that you have exhausted all options and must surrender your purebred pet, there are many breed-specific rescue organizations that might be able to take in your pet.  However, please note that with foster homes in short supply, there is no guarantee your pet can be taken in.  If you are a rescue group and would like your group listed here, please e-mail the PWSPCA at pwspca@pwspca.org.
