Before contacting the PWSPCA, please note that we cannot assist in certain situations dealing with animals. They are as follows: ~ Animal Give-ups: We don't have a facility and cannot accept pets you need to give up for adoption. Please contact rescue groups if you must give away your pet after exhausting all options. ~ Animal Cruelty: To report an act of animal cruelty, you must contact Animal Control directly at: ~ Wildlife: Our volunteers are not trained in dealing with snakes, skunks and other wildlife that may be at your home. You must contact Animal Control for assistance with wildlife at the above numbers or call Humane Wildlife Solutions (endorsed by the Humane Society of the US) at 1-866-9HUMANE. ~ Injured wild animals? Call Wildlife Rescue League (703) 440-0800 if you have sick or injured wildlife you believe is in need of human assistance. One of their volunteers will return your call and give you instructions on how to proceed. Their hotline operates from 8 AM to 9 PM (6 PM in winter) every day of the year. If you call after hours, your call will be returned after 8 AM the following day. ~ Lost Pets: We have no means to handle inquires regarding lost or found pets. Please visit the local shelters to locate lost pets or to report a found pet. ~ Feral Cats: If you or your community have problems with feral cats, please contact Alley Cats for help. The can provide information on trapping and possible spay/neuter options. Prince William SPCA volunteers do not trap feral cats, but county animal control officers will (but please be advised that the cats more than likely will be euthanized if they are feral).
