The Prince William SPCA was established to benefit the animals of the greater Prince William County, Virginia area. This all-volunteer organization is dedicated to protecting domestic animals from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment, and stopping the unnecessary overpopulation of companion animals. Our mission is accomplished through programs designed to 1.) reduce the number of dogs and cats being born, 2.) facilitate animal adoptions, and 3.) enrich the human-animal bond. Programs currently offered include:

• Neuter Commuter: Only low-cost spay/neuter transport service local to Prince William County
• Humane Education: Free subscriptions to publication KIND News for local elementary schools
• Pet Food Pantry: Only area food pantry exclusively for pets
• Petfinder.com Shelter Project: Promotes local shelter pet adoptions through national online database (for the Prince William County Animal Shelter)
• Wellness Clinics: Low-cost rabies vaccination and microchip clinics hosted 2-3 times per year
• Hotline: 24/7 recorded hotline available with detailed information on animal issues
• Coming Soon: Youth Volunteer Program

We encourage partnerships with the veterinary industry, the local business community, county government officials and other nonprofits that share in our mission. In working with these groups, we hope to make the greater Prince William region a better place for precious companion animals.

• Help reduce the numbers of homeless domestic animals through public education.
• Promote spaying/neutering to stop animal abuse and the deaths/killing of homeless and shelter animals. 
• Facilitate the rescue and adoption of homeless domestic animals of pure or mixed breed lineage.  
• Prevent cruelties of any form to any and all animals and to aid in the prosecution of such cruelties  

We are not a rescue organization nor do we have a shelter or foster program.  Instead, we encourage cooperation among animal rescue groups, the local shelter, businesses, schools, civic organizations and the county government agencies.  PWSPCA volunteers believe strongly that the key to our group's success lies in the ability to develop relationships with these groups within the county and region.  If you are a part of one of these groups and are interested in working with the PWSPCA, please contact us at pwspca@pwspca.org.

We are an independent group that works on local issues that are determined by an elected board of directors. Our funding comes from the community, not any government agency or national organization.
